A virtual-reality Australian Rules kicking game where the player pick up a virtual ball and kick it through the goals to score and compete against other players to win cash prizes.
The system used a set of Virtual Reality trackers located on shin guards that the Player would wear along with their headset. They would use their handsets to pick up the Virtual Ball and kick it through the goals in the virtual-reality environment.
Game play was also projected onto a huge external TV screen so the audience could see all the in-game action, and a scoreboard was displayed on a seperate TV monitor to track game progress and all the top scorers for that game session.
The game was launched at the Crown Casino in Melbourne in late 2018, and ran for several months at various locations around Victoria.
Carlton United Brewery via Traffik
I was Executive Producer for the project and was working at Traffik at the time. I managed the entire project from end to end.
I designed the game play and hardware systems, designed and built the PC and VR kit, including the custom shin guards, and sourced and managed all suppliers.
