A travelling activation centred around a massive 10m x 3m LED screen with four touchscreen kiosks for visitors to engage with.
Users would select a topic they are interested in, then choose a fun icon to colour in. Once they had filled their icon with colour, they swiped up to see their artwork appear on the huge LED screen along with their name and a recommended holiday experience they could enjoy in California.
After the information had finished, the Visitors name and icon would float around the screen with the others.
They would also recieve an SMS that would link them to a microsite where they could see their coloured drawing, and find out more about the recommended holiday experiences available to them along with several special deals provided by Air New Zealand.
The activation mechanic was also live online for those who couldn't travel to the activation site and we had over 1500 entrants using this pathway.
Once during each activation, the system would trigger a random prize for a lucky User. The big prize was an all expenses paid trip to California and was won in Melbourne by a very lucky fan.
Visit California is the official tourism agency for those wanting to find out more about holidaying in California USA. The agency was seeking a unique activation to excite and engage with families with younger children so I worked with the team at Traffik to develop Kidifornia, a fun and visually expansive activation that amazed the families that took part.
I was the Digital Production Lead at Traffik and was responsible for the digital design, all hardware, software development, all artwork and full activation support during the rollout. I sourced and managed all suppliers (art, LED truck, touchscreen kiosks, and networking), arranged all site permits, and was the technical liaison with the Client and supervised the activation art and software development pipeline.
